I will miss you Walt. Always smiling, a pleasure to be around to "talk story". May you rest in peace. Randy Abe

It is indeed sad to hear of Walter's passing.  I think all of us will miss him, his easy engaging personality  with  lively, friendly conversation.  From his telling, it sounds like he found a "home" in Iolani and was able to use what he experienced at our school and in our class to develop it into a successful life and career.  He did not forget Iolani School nor his classmates serving for a good while on the alumni board and remaining active in the class activities and get togethers.  May he rest in peace.

Walter was an 'Iolani stalwart to his inner core. His messages laced with pidgin always made me laugh. He was a good neighbor of ours for many years up on Alaeloa. He is missed. Aloha Walt.

Walter was not only a friendly, easy-going guy, he was a skilled, experienced architect, especially with hospitals and medical buildings.  He was the lead architect when the Queens Medical Center did extensive renovations to its main lobby, adjoining clinics, and emergency rooms in the late 90"s.  After he retired from his firm in Honolulu, he continued an active practice consulting with hospitals in Japan for many years where he met, fell in love with, and married Tamami.

Whenever I visit Queens, I admire and marvel at Walter's work.  You can do the same, although at our age, we should keep hospital visits to a minimum.

To Tamami, our deepest sympathy on Walter's passing.  He was a good, accomplished, yet humble man.  We will miss his friendship and fellowship.
