Stan & John messages

EXPRESSIONS OF SYMPATHY – Milt’s Golf Club email list

12/16/13 – Milt Tsuda

Guys,

Many of you saw John Ozaki's obituary in this Sunday's paper.   Thanks

to Pat Tom for the note, also.  John and Lani wanted a small quiet funeral; that's the way John was.  If you would like to do something to remember him, Lani mentiioned that you may want to give to the American Heart Association in his memory.  Lani asked me to thank all those classmates who called, emailed or stopped by to expressed their condolences.

Creighton, Milton, Rodney,

I'll join others to thank you for your note and your good wishes.  Memories of Stan and John make the getting together and the sharing of time and thoughts, both live and on line, even more meaningful.  I treasure the time spent with John the last time I made it to the monthly golf outing.  He seemed to be quite at peace and I feel good about that.  Wish I could have spent time with Stan as well.  So, whether it's on the course or at lunch (mahalos to Pat for that) or at Roland's or Sam's, getting together and staying in touch is good and continues to make '62 special.  As much as I enjoy what I'm doing, I'm really looking forward to graduating from "time permitting" to "anchor"… even if it means losing a good excuse for playing badly.

Peace, Joy and Aloha to all,

Nate

POSTSCRIPT TO THE "TSUDA REPORT" – A note from the Golf Club

As previously reported, eight of us (Conroy Chow, Rodney Asada, Milton Tsuda, Colin Leong,
Roland and Janis Chun, Clfifford You and myself had a great time golfing at Ewa Villages golf course
yesterday.  We shared a moment of silence to reflect on the passing of our classmates, John
Ozaki and Stanley Miyashiro.  They were really good guys and we will miss their "talk story" moments, and their overall presence.  Colin was very fortunate to have been close friends with Stan and will be attending Stan's funeral in Los Angeles, I believe this weekend.  John Ozaki who was one of the "anchor golfers" of our monthly gathering, will certainly be missed..........his easy
going character, his friendly smile and his "dry" jokes will be sorely missed by all.  Both John and
Stanley were good athletes and liked by all the classmates.  Our deepest sympathies and condolences to their families and loved ones from the classmates.

Do wish peace and comfort to the Ozaki and Miyashiro families. These men will be missed.

Two more from our class and two more from my former company's sales force. Hell of a year and it will be more and more frequent as we all age. Can hardly believe that age (70) is right around the corner. Am so fortunate to have retired early to enjoy the time  that is left. All of you have a wonderful holiday season and a healthy new year. Am really looking forward to seeing most of you again when the next occasion permits. Take care!!!!!!! Aloha...........Randy....................

How sad to have lost both Stan and John within a couple of days of each other.  It was good to have seen Stan again and met his family just a couple of months ago and to have spent time with John at dinners at Roland’s house.  Thanks again to Colin and Roland for hosting those get-togethers and to Milt and Pat Tom for keeping us in touch with each other.

Our sympathies and condolences to Stan’s and John’s families,

Dick

Since I never say anything, you guys probably don't know that I really enjoy eavesdropping on all your e-mails about golf and other get-togethers.  Thanks for keeping me on your e-mail list, although I'll probably never make one of your events because I live on the Big Island now and suffer from serious COPD that limits my ability to go places.

With that item out of the way, I want to share how sad I am to hear that John Ozaki died.  John was one of Mark's and my best friends in our elementary school days.  We spent many, many Saturdays playing together.   Mark doesn't have e-mail, so I'll have to tell him the next time we talk on the phone.  I know he'll be just as saddened as I am by the news.

Best to all of you,

Joel Kennedy

Sorry to hear the news of Stan's passing.  It is ironic yet fortunate to see him only a few months ago during his visit after not seeing him since graduation.  He seemed that time had not changed him greatly in spite of the years. It was good to see him so and to remember him as he was.

My sympathy with his family at theirs and our loss.

Milton,

John Ozaki passed away today at Queen's Medical Ctr.  He enjoyed playing golf with you all and getting together for those reunions at Roland and Janice's house.
